Sachstruktur (sachstruktur.de) is an independent Swedish digital news publisher owned and operated by Sachstruktur Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry). This editorial policy sets out the standards and processes that govern every piece of journalism we publish. It explains how we produce, review and label our content, and how readers can hold us accountable.
How are articles produced and reviewed?
Every article published by Sachstruktur is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact-checked before going live. This three-stage process ensures accuracy, fairness and clarity. No content is published without explicit human editorial approval.
The editorial chain begins with the writer, who sources information and drafts the piece. The section editor then reviews the structure, tone and factual basis. Finally, the fact-checking team, led by Jessica Fischer (Ansvarig för faktagranskning), verifies all claims, sources and data. How do we distinguish between news, opinion, features, sponsored and affiliate content?
Sachstruktur clearly labels each category of content so readers know exactly what they are consuming. News articles report facts without bias; opinion pieces represent the writer’s personal view; features provide analysis; sponsored content and affiliate links are always disclosed. This distinction is never blurred.
News and analysis articles carry the label “News” or “Analysis” in the byline area. Opinion pieces are marked “Opinion” and include a disclaimer that the views are the author’s own. Sponsored content is flagged with “Sponsored” at the top and follows the rules in our Sponsored Content Policy. Affiliate links are disclosed at the bottom of the article, as required by our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure.
What transparency do we provide at article level?
Every article includes the writer’s name, the editor who approved it, the publication date and, where applicable, a correction history. Sponsored or affiliate material is flagged prominently at the top or within the text. This allows readers to assess the context and credibility of each piece.
If an error is corrected after publication, we append a note explaining the change and the date it was made. Major corrections are also communicated via a separate correction notice. For full details, see our Corrections Policy. The byline always reflects the human journalist who wrote the piece; we do not use pseudonyms or AI-generated author profiles.
How do we maintain independence?
Sachstruktur is funded through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. No commercial relationship determines editorial conclusions. Our independence is guaranteed by a strict firewall between the business and editorial teams.
The company’s ownership structure is transparent: Sachstruktur Media Ltd. is registered in Gibraltar and operates under Maltese law. The editorial team, led by Florian Schmid, has full control over story selection, framing and publication. Advertisers and sponsors cannot influence editorial content. What you can expect from us
From Sachstruktur you can expect journalism that is accurate, clear and independent. We correct errors promptly, disclose conflicts of interest, and never publish sponsored content that mimics news. Our reporting aims to help readers understand complex issues without spin or oversimplification.
We commit to naming all sources where possible, protecting confidential sources when necessary, and avoiding conflicts of interest among our journalists. Every article is reviewed by at least one editor and fact-checked. If we make a mistake, we own it and fix it openly. Readers can trust that our editorial decisions are driven by the public interest, not by commercial pressures.
How do we use AI and automation?
Artificial intelligence tools may support research, editing, formatting, translation, metadata generation, headline options, summaries and transcription. However, AI never replaces human editorial judgement. Every published piece is reviewed and approved by a human editor. AI must not fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines or author experience.

Who writes our articles and how are they attributed?
Every article carries the name of the writer who reported or drafted it. Bylines are genuine; we do not use ghostwriters or AI-generated bylines. Our full editorial team is listed on the Our Team page with contact details and areas of responsibility.
Writers include Franziska Jung (Redaktionschef), Fabian Schuster (Politikredaktör), Katharina Sommer (Wirtschaftreporter), Michael Engels (Kultur- och samhällsredaktör) and others. How can you make a complaint?
If you believe we have published inaccurate, unfair or unethical content, you can submit a complaint to our dedicated complaints desk at complaints@sachstruktur.de or via our Complaints Procedure page. We acknowledge complaints within two working days and investigate fully.
The complaints process involves a review by the relevant section editor and, if necessary, by the Chefredaktör. We aim to resolve most issues within ten working days. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you may request a further review by an external panel. All complaints are handled with confidentiality and respect.
