Sachstruktur (sachstruktur.de) is committed to maintaining the highest journalistic standards. If you believe we have published inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise problematic content, you have the right to complain. Our complaints procedure is designed to be clear, fair, and timely, ensuring every concern is properly investigated and addressed.
How do I submit a complaint?
Send your complaint by email to complaints@sachstruktur.de. Please include your name, contact information, the specific article or content you are referring to, a clear description of the issue, and any supporting evidence or sources.
You may also submit a complaint by post to our registered Gibraltar office: Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000, or by phone on +356 2138 9009. For formal complaints, email is preferred as it provides a clear record. We aim to acknowledge receipt within two working days.
What happens after I submit a complaint?
Your complaint will be logged and assigned to an appropriate member of the editorial team. For issues relating to factual accuracy, our fact-checking manager Jessica Fischer (factcheck@sachstruktur.de) will review the matter. For broader editorial concerns, the relevant section editor will handle it.
We will investigate thoroughly, consulting original sources, notes, and any relevant recordings. You will receive a substantive response no later than ten working days after acknowledgment. If more time is needed, we will inform you of the reason and expected timeline.
What you can expect from us
We take every complaint seriously and handle it with confidentiality and respect. Our responses are transparent, explaining what we found and what action, if any, we will take. If a correction is warranted, we will publish it promptly and link it to the original article.
We never dismiss a complaint without proper review. Even if we ultimately disagree, we will provide a reasoned explanation. Our aim is to learn from mistakes and strengthen our journalism. You can read more about our standards in our Editorial Policy and our Corrections Policy.
What if I am not satisfied with the response?
If you believe your complaint has not been adequately addressed, you may escalate it to our Editor‑in‑Chief, Florian Schmid. Email him directly at anders.lindqvist@sachstruktur.de or call +46 8 525 030 61.
Mr. Schmid will personally review the case, including the initial handling and your reasons for dissatisfaction. He will provide a final decision within fifteen working days. This is the highest level of internal review. We do not currently belong to an external press complaints body, but we follow the principles set out by the European Federation of Journalists’ code of practice.
How do we handle corrections?
Corrections are governed by our Corrections Policy. If a complaint leads to a correction, we update the article, add a note explaining the change, and clearly date the update. Serious errors may be accompanied by an editor’s note or a standalone correction article.
We also maintain a log of all significant corrections. If your complaint does not result in a correction, we will explain why and offer you the opportunity to provide further evidence. Our fact‑checking team can be reached at factcheck@sachstruktur.de.
Where can I find our editorial standards?
Our full editorial standards are set out in the Editorial Policy. This document covers our sourcing rules, fact‑checking processes, AI‑use guidelines, and ethical commitments. For details on how we protect your data when you submit a complaint, please see our Privacy Policy.
Further information about our ownership, funding, and commercial relationships is available in the Ownership & Funding page. Transparency is fundamental to our trustworthiness.
