Sachstruktur was founded in 2024 by Sachstruktur Media Ltd. to fill a specific gap: Swedish news that is clear, practical, and gives readers context without noise. We are an independent digital publisher registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry) and operate from our editorial office in Sweden.
Why was Sachstruktur founded?
Sachstruktur exists because Swedish news coverage often leans toward breaking headlines or partisan commentary, leaving readers without the steady, contextual reporting they need to understand what matters. Our founder saw a demand for journalism that explains the structures behind the news — politics, economy, culture, society — in a straightforward, reliable way.
The tagline “Nachrichten, Analysen und Hintergründe für Deutschland” reflects our commitment to serving German-speaking audiences as well as international readers. We launched in 2024 with a small, experienced team and a clear mission: produce trustworthy Swedish journalism that helps people grasp complex issues without spin or oversimplification.
What is our editorial philosophy?
Our editorial philosophy, overseen by Chefredaktör Florian Schmid, is built on accuracy, transparency, and human editorial judgement. Every article is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor, and fact-checked before publication. AI-assisted tools may support research or drafting but never replace human oversight; every piece is approved by a human editor.
Florian Schmid (anders.lindqvist@sachstruktur.de) is responsible for editorial standards, publication decisions, and corrections. Who is responsible for what we publish?
Our desk structure is designed to ensure accountability across every section. Franziska Jung, Redaktionschef, manages the daily newsroom and headline review. Fabian Schuster covers riksdagen, regeringen, and kommunpolitik; Katharina Sommer handles ekonomi, marknader, and hushållsekonomi; Michael Engels oversees kultur, livsstil, and samhälle; Jessica Fischer is responsible for fact-checking and source verification. Each reporter’s byline is linked to a biography, and every article includes contact information for the author. If you have a question about a specific piece, the named writer is the first point of contact.
How do we handle mistakes?
We take errors seriously and correct them promptly and transparently. Our corrections policy requires that any factual mistake be corrected with a visible note explaining the change. Readers can report errors to our corrections desk at corrections@sachstruktur.de or to the relevant editor. We also maintain a complaints procedure for more serious concerns.
Fact-checker Jessica Fischer (emma.sandberg@sachstruktur.de) oversees all corrections and source verification. We aim to acknowledge every correction request within one business day and implement fixes as soon as they are verified.
How are we funded?
Our funding comes from display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing. All sponsored or commercial material is clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed. Commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions. This model allows us to remain independent and free to read while paying our journalists fairly. We do not accept funding that would compromise our editorial independence, and we publish an annual transparency report.
