Berichtigungspolitik

At Sachstruktur (sachstruktur.de) we take accuracy seriously and are committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. This corrections policy explains how we handle mistakes, how you can report them, and what you can expect from us.

How do I report an error?

If you spot a factual mistake, unclear statement, or missing context in any article, please email our dedicated corrections desk at corrections@sachstruktur.de. Include the article headline, the specific error, and – if possible – the source of the correct information. You can also use the general contact address info@sachstruktur.de marked “Correction” in the subject line.

We aim to acknowledge receipt within 48 hours during weekdays. For urgent or potentially defamatory errors, please mark your email “Urgent” and we will prioritise it.

Who handles corrections at Sachstruktur?

Jessica Fischer, Ansvarig för faktagranskning (fact‑checking manager), oversees all corrections. She leads a dedicated standards desk that reviews every reported error, verifies the facts, and decides on the appropriate action. Her email is emma.sandberg@sachstruktur.de and she can be reached at +46 8 525 030 66.

If a correction involves a significant editorial judgement – such as a major factual error, a retraction, or a substantial update – the matter is escalated to our Chefredaktör (editor‑in‑chief) Florian Schmid. He makes the final decision on publication of a correction note or retraction. You can reach him at anders.lindqvist@sachstruktur.de.

What happens when a mistake is confirmed?

Once a material error is confirmed by our standards desk, we correct the article and add a clear, transparent correction note at the top or bottom of the page. The note explains what was wrong, what the correct information is, and the date of the correction. For minor errors (e.g., a typo that does not affect the factual meaning) we may simply update the text without a separate note, but we keep a log of all changes.

For significant errors that could mislead readers, we also inform subscribers via our newsletter or through a standalone correction notice on the homepage. If the error appears in a headline, social‑media post, or image caption, we correct those as well and note the change.

What you can expect from us

We promise to investigate every reported error thoroughly and to respond within five working days with a clear outcome: correction made, correction planned, explanation of why no change is needed, or request for more information. We treat all reporters of errors – readers, sources, or subjects of our articles – with respect and confidentiality. Our corrections policy is part of our broader editorial policy and fact‑checking policy.

What if I’m not satisfied with the response?

If you believe your correction request has been mishandled or if you wish to escalate a dispute, you can contact Florian Schmid directly at anders.lindqvist@sachstruktur.de or via the main editorial line +49 30 577 013 49. He will review the case and issue a final decision within 14 calendar days. For complaints that fall outside corrections – such as requests for removal of content or allegations of bias – please refer to our complaints procedure.
