Sachstruktur (sachstruktur.de) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users and contributors to do the same. This Copyright and Takedown Policy explains how we handle copyright and image rights, and how rights holders can request the removal of infringing material. The policy is issued by Sachstruktur Media Ltd., the private Gibraltar-registered company (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry) that owns and operates the publication.
What image rights does Sachstruktur adhere to?
Sachstruktur uses only images that are either properly licensed, in the public domain, or used with permission from the rights holder. All images published on the site are sourced through recognised stock agencies, directly from creators, or under fair-use provisions for news reporting. We do not knowingly publish unauthorised or uncredited photographs, illustrations, or graphics.
If you believe an image on Sachstruktur infringes your copyright or moral rights, please contact us immediately at copyright@sachstruktur.de. Provide the exact URL of the page containing the image, a description of the work, and evidence that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf. We will investigate promptly and, if the claim is valid, remove or replace the image within two business days.
How can you submit a takedown request?
Submit a takedown request by emailing copyright@sachstruktur.de with a clear description of the material you claim is infringing, the specific location (URL) on sachstruktur.de, and your contact information. Include a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised, and that the information in your notice is accurate under penalty of perjury.
For verification, we may ask for additional identification or proof of ownership, particularly if the claim involves a lesser-known work or a third-party source. All requests are reviewed by our editorial team, led by Chefredaktör Florian Schmid, and by our fact-checking desk headed by Jessica Fischer (ansvarig för faktagranskning). We aim to acknowledge receipt within 24 hours and to resolve the matter within five working days.
What happens after we receive a takedown request?
We will review the request and, if it appears valid, remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material promptly. We may contact the original uploader or author (if known) to give them an opportunity to respond or to provide a counter-notification if they believe the removal was in error.
If a counter-notification is submitted, we will forward it to the original claimant and restore the material after 14 business days unless the claimant files a court action. This process follows standard industry practice and is designed to protect both rights holders and legitimate content creators. Our full terms governing user conduct and intellectual property are set out in the Terms of Use.
What you can expect from us
Sachstruktur is committed to handling all copyright claims responsibly, transparently, and without unnecessary delay. We maintain a register of takedown requests and removals for internal auditing, and we will not penalise users who act in good faith. Sponsored or commercial content is clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed; those practices are governed by separate policies under Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure and Sponsored Content Policy.
Our editorial independence means that no commercial relationship or advertising agreement will ever prevent us from removing infringing material. We also follow the principles outlined in our Editorial Policy and Sources and Standards page. If you have questions about how we verify information or handle corrections, you can read our Corrections Policy.
